Penned Con 2017 did it again!

I had the great honor of receiving free tickets from author Cameo Renae. A great thank you to her for this amazing gift.

There were around 150 authors in attendance.

I arrived with my 2 friends that attended this event with me. We arrived on Thursday night and the fun started there. I love being able to walk through the door and authors are everywhere. It is a fan girls dream come true. Amy and Rick Miles do an amazing job putting this event together every year. This was the 3 year for this event. We got to our room, which was amazing. We ended up having to get a suite due to the fact that rooms were just about sold out. And as of right now, rooms are already selling for 2018. We have booked ours for that event. Stepping ahead!

We got up early that Friday morning and went downstairs to start our day off at Bristo 14, which a diner they have in the hotel. The diner ended up giving us our food for free because they had failed to bring us our room service when it was requested. They were outstanding.

After leaving there, it was time to head to the room, gather my book cart and swag bag, and head up to the event on the 13th floor. Upon entering the 2 rooms filled with amazing authors, all you feel is the excitement in the air for the love of books. The only way I can tell you is if you a favorite author there, hit them up first. I went to straight to Cameo Renae and N.L. Greene, which luckily, were both at the same table. Once I left their table, I just started at table one and worked my way all the way around the room. Then when you finished one room, you head on over to room 2.

This year had some amazing new authors that attended such as Rachel Van Dyken and Jamie McGuire.

Jamie McGuire did not show up to the book event until the next day, Saturday. I got there when it opened on the second day as well, and her line was already almost out the door. After purchasing 3 of her books, I waited in line. I had listened to her book series "Providence" on audio and loved it. This was such a fan girl moment for me and when I got to her table, I was thrilled to see how sweet she was and how she took time for her fans, even with the line as long as it was.

This event ended with a great Casino themed award show that night. I always seeing the joy on the authors faces as they announce their name as they one the award. I ended up meeting new great authors and making some new friends with them. I have learned to step out of my comfort zone on books and never judge a book by its cover. There are secrets that hid behind every page.
