Synopsis:

Tucked away at an upscale, private boarding school in Brindle Hollow, Washington, seventeen-year-old Eden East comes face to face with a hideous creature on her walk back to her dorm.

Shaken to her core, she's left questioning the world around her, and soon finds herself entering a friendship with a hot, new student named Alexander.

Little does she know, Alex is a Guardian Angel, sent from Midway to protect her from those dangerous creatures—known as Darkling—lurking in the forest outside Brindle Hall. It isn’t long before Alex learns this is no ordinary assignment. Eden’s existence holds a secret; something hidden from even herself.

Eden is thrust into a world where Fallen angels and creatures of the Underworld will stop at nothing to catch her. With Alex at her side and a little help from some of his old friends, they form a formidable front against the enemy. Hopefully, it’s not too little, too late.

Guarding Eden is a Hidden Wings Spin-off Series and a Midway Novel. Intended for Ages 15 and over

Review:

This book is a spin off of "The Hidden Wings" series by Cameo Renae. It is among my favorite young adult series. It’s about Fallen angels and a girl who is about to become come into power at the age of 18. A Nephilim. I love books on angels and Nephilim, so when Cameo announced she was writing a spin-off, I was so excited. "Guarding Eden" is the first book in the spin-off. Is about a young girl named Eden. She attends a boarding school in Washington state and in a few weeks, she will be graduating. After a night out with her friend, on her way back to the dorm alone, she see a dark figure in the woods. Eden questions herself at what she is seeing and thinks to herself if she had rumors of things in the wood, but nothing come to mind. She was unsure what she was seeing and if it was real until it speaks to her and tells her "I can smell you." Thankful for the guard on duty, which the kids at school make fun of, comes just in time to scare off the creature.

Meanwhile, Midway was sending a warrior angel, Alex, to protect Eden. Midway is a place where guardin angels live until sent out on an assignment. Alex's assignments was protecting Eden and to figure out why the Darkling(as Alex calls them) has shown up and allowed itself to be seen by Eden. After the Darkling knows that it has been seen, it will not stop until he kills the one that has seen him. Darkling normally don't allow humans to see them so the question is, why did it want let Eden see him and not kill her? So Alex, is here to protect Eden and in his attempt to blend in, he becomes a student and makes friends with Eden to keep her safe. I have personally got to meet Cameo a couple of times now, and she is by far, my favorite author. She creates a world that you fall right into with the characters. They become real. Eden is no different. She is smart and attractive, according to Alex, and she is totally blind sided with her feeling for Alex. Alex is one of the best warriors in Midway but they forbidden to find love with a human. Upon entering the school as a student, Alex catches the eye of all the girls, who all start trying to get his attention. But he only eyes for Eden. Eden is sitting at a table with her friends, (Sebastian, Kimi, and Trissa), for lunch with this guy, Alex, walks in. I love Sebastian. If you are offended by gays, then you will not want to read this book. Sebastian is attracted to Alex when he sees him walk in the cafeteria. Of course, Trissa, is like "WOW" what a hottie. Eden, has an amazing group of friends and they are like family. You will not be disappointed when it comes to the action, violence, romance, and yes, even death. I become so involved in the book and the scene that is taking place that I end up not being able to put her books down. Cameo is among the best YA authors out there. I don't want to spoil this book for you but lets just say that Alex and Eden are forbidden to love each other and in between saving her and contacting Emma and Kade to help her understand her future and to explain to her what she is facing. Eden, knew she was different; she is having more energy and healing a lot faster than normal. After being taken to Alaska to meet Alaine, Emma, Kade and the rest of the crew, to help her out, she is attacked and begins to question Alex, of what she is. Her story unfolds and things begin to happen to her and having Alex there with her, gives her strength and she finds out what may happen to her when she turns 18. You will not want to miss out on what happens the night of the dance and the dangers that occur.

I highly recommend this series but I highly recommend reading the "Hidden Wings" series but picking this book up. However, you don't have too, but It will atleast give you some insight on how the story has unfolded from the beginning and why Emma is able to help her. The story is Emma, is unlike any story I have ever read.

Recommended reading age.. I would suggest no one over 16+ to read these. There is several sex scenes but not explicit. There is danger, fights, some language, and blood scenes.
