Synopsis:
Alyssa Gardner hears the whispers of bugs and flowers—precisely the affliction that landed her mother in a mental hospital years before. This family curse stretches back to her ancestor Alice Liddell, the real-life inspiration for Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Alyssa might be crazy, but she manages to keep it together. For now. When her mother’s mental health takes a turn for the worse, Alyssa learns that what she thought was fiction is based in terrifying reality. The real Wonderland is a place far darker and more twisted than Lewis Carroll ever let on. There, Alyssa must pass a series of tests, including draining an ocean of Alice’s tears, waking the slumbering tea party, and subduing a vicious bandersnatch, to fix Alice’s mistakes and save her family. She must also decide whom to trust: Jeb, her gorgeous best friend and secret crush, or the sexy but suspicious Morpheus, her guide through Wonderland, who may have dark motives of his own.

My Review:
This book was very good. I loved the concept of meeting Alice's great great great granddaughter. This story is very unique. Alyssa is trying to break the curse that Alice placed on her family years ago by going back to Wonderland. This story is told from a very cute concept. I love how the rabbit hole and the EAT ME and DRINK ME are brought back into this story. The only thing is when Alyssa goes to Wonderland, it is not as the story was told. Wonderland is darker than the stories she remember with the sweet rabbits and tea parties. Alyssa journey's through the darkness of Wonderland and doesn't know who she is to trust because the stories keep changing. What does she do? Who does she trust? and does the love of her life, Jeb, find himself down the rabbit hole? I rate this book at 4 star because there are times I got bored but the story was still very good. I am going to book 2 and will find out if this series keeps me interested. I love a good Alice in Wonderland story.
Here are more books from the series.
